The toymaker (Semon) is L. Read Frank Baum's book to his granddaughter. In the story, the land of Oz is dominated by Prime Minister Kruel (Josef Swickard) with the help of Ambassador Wicked (Otto Lederer), Mrs. Vishus (Virginia Pearson), and Wizard (Charles Murray). increase. When dissatisfied people led by Prince Kind (Bryant Washburn) demand that the princess, who disappeared as a baby many years ago, be crowned as their legitimate ruler, Kruel becomes a wizard. Closing with a Salon Trick: Kruel sends a wicked mission by spawning a copy (Frederick Co-Veil) from a seemingly empty basket. Meanwhile, Dorothy (Dorothy Dwan) lives with her family on a farm in Kansas.
Aunt Em (Mary Carr) is a friendly and compassionate woman, while Uncle Henry (Frank Alexander) is a short, obese man with little love for her cousin. He also abuses his peasants: Snowball (G. How Black, due to Spencer Bell's stage name, which regularly appears in the Semons movie) and the unknown characters of Hardee's and Semons. The latter two are in love with Dorothy, who likes Hardy's personality. Aunt Em revealed to Dorothy that it was placed on the front door when she was a baby, along with an envelope and instructions that she could only be opened when she was 18 years old.
However, on his 18th birthday, Wicked and his minions arrive at the farm on a double-decker floor and request an envelope. If Uncle Henry refuses to hand him over, Wicked bribes Hardy's character by promising him wealth and Dorothy. Wicked tied Dorothy to a rope and lifted it to the top of the tower. His men set fire under the rope. The Hardee's character finds the note, but the Semons character picks it up and rescues Dorothy. Only for Wicked and his men to catch them all with firearms. Then a tornado suddenly occurs. Two affectionate rivals, Dorothy and Uncle Henry, are dragged in a fierce wind with a snowball and immediately hide in a small wooden barn lying in the land of Oz.
Dorothy finally reads the contents of her envelope. She declares that his princess is Dorothea, the legitimate ruler of Oz. Kruel accused her peasant of kidnapping her and ordered her wizard to turn it into something else like a monkey, but he clearly can't do that. Chased by Kruels soldiers, the Semons character disguises himself as a scarecrow, and Hardy improvises a costume from the hidden tin pile. Eventually the soldiers will catch them. During his trial, the tin woodman accuses his fellow peasants of kidnapping Dorothy. Kind put a scarecrow and a snowball in the dungeon.
Kruel turns a tin woodman into a "Garter Medal" and Uncle Henry into a "Prince of the Whale". Wikked proposes to retain his power by marrying Dorothy. The wizard then helps the two prisoners escape by giving the snowball a lion costume to use to expel the guards. The scarecrow managed to arrive at Dorothy and warn Kruel, but the tin woodman chased him into the dungeon and was put in a lion's cage for a while (with a real lion). He and Snowball finally escape.
When Kind learns that Kruel is trying to get Dorothy to marry him, they fight a sword. The Scarecrow rescues Dorothy and Kind as the Kruels minions intervene to help disarmament Kind. Kruel claims to have taken Dorothy to Kansas to protect her from her proceedings attempting to harm her, but she ordered him to be taken away.
Scarecrow is sad to discover that Dorothy has fallen in love with Prince Kind. He then escapes to the Tower of the Tin Woodman, who tries to shoot him with a cannon. Snowballs are flying double-decker above their heads, and scarecrows manage to grab a rope and learn to hang down. However, the ladder breaks and collapses. Suddenly, the scene returns to the girl who fell asleep. She wakes up and leaves. Grandpa is reading a book about Dorothy marrying Prince Kind and living happily ever since.
