Mrs. Darling (Ralston) is worried because she sees the child's face through the nursery window and finds a shadow on the floor, but she reluctantly goes to a party with her husband (Chadwick). Darling is so strict that the family cannot hire a nurse and the three children take care of the dog Nana (Ali).
Soon a cheerful boy Peter Pan (Bronson) appears in the window with the fairy Tinkerbell (Fair) and finds his shadow in the desk drawer. His eldest son, Wendy (Brian), wakes up to meet Peter and talk about his house and fairies in the woods. Peter taught the children to fly, and they went to Neverland to join the Lost Boy colony.
The lost boy colony fell from the wagon when the nurse wasn't looking. Tinkerbell is jealous and asks one of the lost boys to shoot Wendy, thinking he's a bird, and almost dies. Children living in an underground house have adopted Wendy as her mother. A friendly group of Native American Indians fights a group of pirates led by Captain Hook (Trens), but they are defeated. The captain hates Peter because of the crocodile he was once bitten.
As the crocodile is chasing him, the captain is afraid of him and sends an alarm clock to warn him that his touch is approaching him. The pirates take the children and poison Peters' medicine. Tinkerbell almost dies of poison, but is saved when the children of the audience say they believe in fairies. Peter board a pirate ship with the help of a mermaid, and with the help of the Proud Boys they fight and defeat the pirates.
After that, Wendy and her children go home. Sad, Darling thinks he's dreaming of seeing children until they attack. Wendy wants to be with Peter, but he says he never wants to grow. Mrs. Darling agrees to leave Wendy once a year to help Peter clear up the spring, and he leaves to return to his house in the woods. The Darlings adopt all their lost sons.
